The German machine manufacturer KURRE Systems is renowned for its customized solutions in the wire and cable industry. This article highlights the VA-P-400-2, a fully automatic double take-up winder that winds ready-to-sell spools directly on the extrusion line and subsequently palletizes them. Magazine:
In the current version, the empty spool magazine accommodates six spools with a diameter of 400 mm, ensuring reliable and seamless operation of the fully automatic machine. The palletizer is supplied with pallets from a magazine that holds up to ten empty pallets. This design enhances efficiency and significantly reduces the manual workload for operators. <\/p>\n
Winding Unit:
The main component, featuring an overlap function, ensures perfectly wound spools across two winding stations. The tightly synchronized sequence processes enable an output of up to one spool (500 m) per minute. Electrically adjustable pintles provide fast and precise tensioning of the spools. Additionally, the integrated linear dancer maintains constant tensile forces between 30 and 200 N. <\/p>\n
Taping Station:
Following the winding process, the cable end is automatically secured with tape. Quick-change magazines facilitate the easy replacement of empty tape rolls during production, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted operation. <\/p>\n
Ejection of Faulty Spools:
After the winding and taping process, spools previously detected within the line as defective or of incorrect length, are ejected via a separate roller conveyor. <\/p>\n
Palletizing Station:
The palletizer transfers finished spools neatly onto the designated pallet. Full pallets are automatically conveyed further, while a new, empty pallet is fed from the magazine. <\/p>\n
Customized Configuration:
“This configuration is specifically tailored to our customer’s requirements and includes all the desired process steps,” explains Dennis Veit, detailing the development process. “However, we have previously built this fully automatic machine in various configurations, each designed entirely according to individual customer specifications. This version features a very compact design, occupying only 34 m\u00b2 of floor space.”<\/p>\n
As noted, the double take-up winder can be customized to meet various requirements. For instance, foils can be used in place of tapes, and pallet stretching systems for wrapping finished pallets or palletizers with intermediate layers have already been implemented.
